Huawei to host Seeds of the Future programme
Huawei has announced its support for the fifth annual staging of Seeds of the Future programme, with students from The University of the West Indies and The University of Technology, Jamaica participating.
Huawei Jamaica has partnered with these universities since 2017, providing the opportunity for students to learn about Huawei’s international business culture at the company’s headquarters. This trip has continuously benefited students as the course of the programme focuses on information communication technology (ICT), preparing them for their venture into the ICT industry.
Last year, Seeds of the Future was held online, which gave an opportunity for more students to participate. The programme is scheduled to begin on June 28 and will end on July 5.
In a communiqué, Huawei stated that the programme will offer undergraduate students experience involving technology courses (including 5G, cloud, AI, etc.), a leadership course, Chinese culture experiences, a tech exhibition hall live visit, participation in “Tech4Good” group project, and culture exchanges with outstanding peers around the world.
Huawei launched Seeds of the Future in 2008 as their global CSR programme, which has allowed them to partner with over 400 universities, over 30,000 students from around the world have benefited from the programme.
