Sophie’s Childlike Faith, second book written by the author, Sophia Erskine, made its debut at number one on Amazon in new releases.

Sophie’s Childlike Faith is a compilation of stories centred around the miraculous power of faith. Each story provides insights and strengthens one’s faith in God. As the stories unfold, they demonstrate the mystery of faith seen through the eyes of a child, who chooses to take God at His word.

What is faith? According to Hebrews 11, it is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith is the currency that gives believers or unbelievers access to the supernatural. It is by this said faith that we believe that God exists. Abraham believed in the Lord and He (God) accounted it to him (Abraham) for Righteousness.

The word of God teaches us that all we have to do is to believe in God, and our faith in Him can revolutionise our lives.

One of the stories highlighted from Sophie’s Childlike Faith is that of David and Goliath. David was what society would consider just a shepherd boy. He was someone who people would deem insignificant or just ordinary; a mere shepherd who attended his father’s sheep. The word of God, however, tells us in 1 Samuel 16:7 that man sees the outward appearance but God sees the heart. It is a heart thing with God, so although David was a shepherd, he had tremendous faith in his great God.

ASKED THE QUESTION

David being a boy filled with faith asked the question, “What will be done for the man that destroys this giant.” It is clear that the words from David were filled with faith. David could afford to be vocal because of his faith in the one true God. David, who activated the works of his faith by confronting something or someone (Goliath) that others found very difficult to defeat. We see where David told Goliath that although he may come against him with his sword, spear, and javelin that he, David, would come against him in the name of the Lord. In the end, we see a triumphant David who was successful in getting rid of said giant, Goliath.

Erskine believes that our childlike faith can turn negatives into positives once we believe. Her passion for God and in gathering His lost sheep was instrumental in her writing books on faith and on the miraculous.

The Bible tells us, “Be it unto you, according to your faith.” It is with this faith that we serve the Lord, Jesus Christ, because it is written, “Without faith, it is impossible to please God.”

We learn that one of Sophie’s fears was addition; however, she overcame that fear by applying herself, the outcome was great … your faith has to be placed in God who can do the impossible and that will cause God to move on your behalf be it that of a child or an adult. We see David putting his sling in a stone destroyed the power of the giant with God’s help. For such a time as this our sling and stone are the word of God and our faith along with the word will create wonders.

Sophie’s Childlike Faith, written by Sophia Erskine, is a self-published book. It is available on Amazon in e-book and in paperback versions.
