Poems
In a rural town far from urban spaces
Stood a thatched roof shed
Where cows and goats seek their places
As cold night breeze a howling
eye tears rolling down their faces.
Night skies clear, starlights peeped
And moon shine bright
As tall palm and coconut trees
bow in homage
summoned by breeze a howling.
Traversing potholes and unpaved roadways
A pregnant woman on a donkey
Led by her bruised feet husband,
Finding no place to have her baby,
Stopped at the thatched roof shed
To enable the birth.
Sounds of a boy child a crying
As cows mooing and goats bleating
Peenie wallies dancing in dark night
And crickets chirping their praises
Heralding the Savior’s birth.
