A father - my first glimpse of god

I know it is hard for anyone to see,

What love and friendship was between my father and me.

How could I not admire the strength I saw in his eyes,

Strength that taught me not to lose hope in any demise.

Amidst all the fluctuations of life, for me my father was next to God.

I feel him within me always, through my memories, my reflection, my blood.

As a child, I would hold his hand- I swore I would never let him go,

And I would hear his healing voice saying “my son I love you so”.

It was that precious love that only a father-son could share,

I would give my everything, right now, just to have him here.

I’ll do you proud, Dad, be the best that I can be,

I’ll do all you wished you could, Father, just watch me, you’ll see.

I don’t know how to be a father or a husband, but I’ll try,

But how I wish I could be trying, with you by my side.

Sometimes in life my knees shake, and I know it is your guidance I seek,

I may fall, but I’ll always rise again- because I know my father was never weak.

Sometimes I’m tired of everything, Father, I know only you would understand,

Whenever I needed you, you were always there to hold my hand.

There are no words, no song to express- a deeper love than this you cannot find,

All those laughs, secrets, hugs will always be there deep in the recess of my mind.

Now at the end, I would just say... I love you Daddy.

Through my every breath, I continue your wit, your love and your legacy.

Champion Dad

It wasn’t easy

But you kept giving your all

Getting up after every fall

Pushing yourself each day

Trying to make a way

Fighting with every fibre of cell

Even when you were unwell

It was very hard to tell

As you had to ensure

we were protected and secured.

Provided for and well-fed

Our Champion Head

Many times you could have given up

And be one of the father’s who seldom pop-up

With the pressures of life

And all society’ s strife

The complexity to remind

Of the marginalization of mankind

You still kept going..

So always remember Dear Champion Dad

Having you around makes us glad,

You are held with high admiration

For all your hard work and dedication

You truly are the family glue

And we love, respect and adore you.

Thank you for always being there

And for showing us each day how much you care!

Looking here and there, there is no other!

Eternal father you gave your only son

Your love for us is so much that all could see on the cross that it was done!

Eternal father you are great there is no other!

My spiritual father and earthly father thank you for standing your ground

To train, protect and support you always seemed to be around

My father! My father! The chariots of Israel and the horses thereof

Just like how Elisha said to Elijah when he took off his power mantle transfer of

Fathers both spiritual and paternal

Use this has an example to help others to be excellent in their walk in god

Not just for a title or just a nod

Be serious about this call

To be great fathers to all

Not just for special moments to hear “happy father’s day”

But for eternal footsteps for god to promote you and say well done!

You will not be shone

Paternal fathers all I have to say is

Be happy and have a wonderful father’s day!
