Jamaica dollar reaches $131 to US$1

The average selling rate of the Jamaican dollar hit the $131 mark to the United States currency for the first time yesterday.
The average selling rate, according to the Bank of Jamaica trading summary, was $131.32.
The exchange rate reached the psychological $130 mark on May 10.
It then goes on to appreciate to a low of $128.16 on July 18, then fluctuated between $129 and $130 before reaching the $131 mark to US$1 on Thursday, September 14.
