Jamaican man denies smuggling US$647,000 worth of heroin into Bermuda
HAMILTON, Bermuda, CMC – A 37-year-old Jamaican man has denied smuggling US$647,000 worth of heroin into Bermuda earlier this year.
Omar Davy yesterday pleaded not guilty in Supreme Court to the importation of the drug on July 28 and possession with intent to supply.
Davy also denied wilfully obstructing customs officers by running away from the customs area at the L.F. Wade International Airport before officers could finish searching him and his luggage.
It is alleged the haul was 220.88 grams of the controlled drug.
Justice Charles-Etta Simmons remanded Davy in custody until January, when he is expected to return to the court for trial.
