Man stabbed to death by girlfriend’s ex-lover in Guyana

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Police say one person remains under guard at the Georgetown Hospital after a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death at the home of his girlfriend on Monday night.
The police said that Kyle Chase was stabbed by the woman’s ex-lover following a confrontation.
According to a police statement, Chase and an unidentified relative were playing a game of cards at the woman’s home when her ex-lover turned up at the scene.
He reportedly became upset at the sight of Chase in the house.
The police said an argument ensued between Chase and the woman’s ex-lover and a scuffle erupted and it was during the fight that the ex-lover used a sharp object to repeatedly stab the 23-year-old man even as his cousin came to his aid.
He was rushed to the Davis Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
The relative and the assailant both sustained injuries during the fight and had to seek medical attention.
The police said that the suspect remains a patient at the Georgetown Hospital.
