Trinidadian student allegedly commits suicide hours before CXC exams
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC – Police on Monday confirmed that the 17-year-old son of a police officer, has died allegedly by suicide at his home in Tabaquite, a town in central Trinidad.
The police said that the Form Five student of Tabaquite Secondary School, was due to sit the Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate that started on Monday.
But relatives told police the boy had been stressed and worried about the examination.
His body was found by two female relatives and police said a gun with live rounds of ammunition was also discovered at the scene.
A post mortem will be conducted on the body later this week.
