Another general election is behind Jamaica, which, as usual, carried its share of hype, loudness, arguments and counter=arguments – all signs of a vibrant democracy. In the end, the power of the electorate has prevailed. Democracy, which is an institution that is of the people, for the people and by the people, made their choice.

As the new administration puts its plans in to take up office, the focus should be on continuing to build Jamaica, rising above any differences and working as one. We asked a cross section of The Gleaner columnists to share their insights on what their, and the country’s, expectations are from the new administration. Here are their insights.
