'90s Badness performers host moment of silence for Boom Dandimite

The lights went low and all was quiet as a voice message from dancehall veteran Bounty Killer urged patrons to observe a moment of silence for "one of my very close friends" — the late Boom Dandimite.
Bounty Killer's recorded request was part of a heartfelt tribute to former Scare Dem Crew member and added a sombre note to a high-energy segment in which Reggae Sumfest patrons were transported back to the 1990s on Night One of event.
Lighters blazed as all at the Catherine Hall Entertainment Centre in St James participated in the tribute.
Shortly after, former Scare Dem Crew member, Harry Toddler, sang of his more than 30 years of friendship with Boom Dandimite, noting that "even though yuh gone, yuh memories still live on."
Boom Dandimite, Nitty Kutchie, Harry Toddler and Elephant Man formed the Scare Dem Crew back in the 1990s and scored hits with songs such as Pure Gal and Many Many.
The father of five, collapsed after disembarking a plane in Florida in May and was rushed to a hospital in Orlando where he died. He was laid to rest in Jamaica on July 2.
The tribute to him came in the middle of the Boombox '90s Badness segment in which he had been scheduled to perform before his untimely death.
The segment featured artistes such as General B, Mega Banton, Jigsy King, Tony Curtis, Nitty Kutchie, Round Head and Silver Cat.
