Eclectic reggae ban Dukes of Roots last Friday released a remix of their single, Feel the Love, via ONErpm, and featuring Grammy Award-winning reggae artiste Kabaka Pyramid.

Feel the Love has already garnered international success since its initial release, but with the addition of Kabaka Pyramid’s talent, this remix promises to be an absolute game-changer, the producers say.

“Working with Kabaka Pyramid always feels natural because he’s very professional and down to earth. We’ve spent years working together on a lot of projects, and every single session is a learning experience,” said Sean Diedrick, keyboardist of Dukes of Roots.

He noted that the infectious chorus of the song, “so feel the love surrounding you, just let it in” resonated deeply with listeners and encouraged them to embrace love and positivity in their lives.

“With their signature reggae sound along with Kabaka Pyramid’s distinct voice and lyrical genius, Dukes of Roots have once again proved their ability to captivate audiences with their profound musical artistry. The collaboration between these talented artists is a testament to their commitment to creating timeless and impactful music,” a press release sated.

The remix of Feel the Love is slated to be on Dukes of Roots debut album set to be released early next year.

“I think we all can agree that ultimately, it all forwards around to love, so the message is universal. Songs like these are always needed, especially in the times we are in now where we feel on the brink of another world war,” declared Kabaka Pyramid.

He continued, “It’s always a joy working with my bro Young Pow and Dukes of Roots family.”

The group comprises well-known musicians and artistes who have come together to celebrate roots reggae music. On vocals is Mermans Mosengo, the Congolese singer who has performed all over the world with the arts organisation Playing For Change and a variety of other bands.

Authoritative on bass is George ‘Fully’ Fullwood, the Jamaican musician who is regarded as one of the most prolific bass players on the scene, having worked with greats like Toots Hibbert, Bob Marley, and Peter Tosh, to name a few.

Courtney Diedrick on drums is also from Jamaica’ and is a Grammy-award winning musician whose credits, like his bandmates’, are prolific and include Damian and Stephen Marley, Mick Jagger, and Dave Stewart, to name a few. Sean Diedrick on production and keys is a Grammy-award winning producer from Jamaica who has been producing for legendary artistes like Damian Marley, Stephen Marley, Sean Paul, Shaggy, and Popcaan for years. T Rod on guitar also composes and writes lyrics for the band.

The accompanying music video for Feel the Love, directed by Pete Beng, enhances the song’s powerful message of love and unity. The visuals capture the essence of the track and amplify its impact and message to embrace love.
