Section of the Red Hills Road between Whitehall Avenue after the October 6, 1963 flood water had wreaked havoc.
This picture of the 10-chain-long Olivier Bridge spanning the Johnson River at Morant Bay shows how high the river rose in spate.
More damage to road surface on the Red Hills Road is shown here at a point three chains below the Dunrobin Overdrive.
An aerial view of the Molynes Road-Sandy Gully chasm created after the fording and footbridge were swept away by the turbulent gully. Crumpled girders of the bridge are in the lower foreground. Youngsters frolic in what is left of the paved gully course (top).
