At the annual general meeting of the Jamaica Stock Exchange held on Thursday, December 6, the directors elected a new chairman — Rita Humphries, who has been a director of the Exchange since 1979. This is the first time that the council is being chaired by a woman.

The new vice-chairman is Mark Ricketts, a new director. These two officers replaced Dr Paul Chen Young, who has been chairman since 1979, and Anthony Lloyd, vice-chairman, who retired earlier this year.

Melvin Carey was reappointed secretary of the company while Joyce Woodham, general manager, was reappointed secretary to the council of the Stock Exchange.
