Flowers for King’s wife: A basket of beautiful flowers was presented to Mrs King by a little girl from the Maxfield Children’s Home. At the centre is Mr. Milton Rodriquez, deputy KSAC commissioner. Seated at the left is Dr Martin Luther King.
The Keys to the City of Kingston were presented to the Rev. Dr Martin Luther King, American civil rights leader, at the National Stadium. Standing next to him at right is the acting town clerk, Mr Basil Daniels.
A lone placard amids 7,000 odd people at Stadium reveals,“God Bless Luther King we want Human Rights”.

Jamaicans were thrilled to welcome Martin Luther King  and his wife, Mrs Coretta King,  to the island. They were greeted with warmth and admiration wherever they went. King was honoured with The Keys to the City of Kingston
