Donald Trump will "unleash hell" following his latest indictment

The former US president was indicted for a third time and has been charged with four federal felonies relating to the January 6 attack on the US Capitol and his attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden.

Trump has denied all wrongdoing and insists that he has been a victim of a political "witch hunt" and Fox News host Jesse Watters labelled the charges as "political war crimes" and backed the businessman to "pardon himself immediately" should he return to the White House after next year's election.

Watters suggested during a broadcast: "After these political war crimes have been perpetrated on him, Donald Trump is in the best position he's been so far to win re-election, can you believe it?

"At which point, he'll have to pardon himself immediately. And don't you think for a second he's not going to unleash hell on all of his political enemies."

The conservative broadcaster dramatically claimed that a re-elected Trump would "have to" imprison politicians who stand against him "and their families".

Watters said: "This is only the beginning of politicians putting other politicians and their families in prison. Sad that we had to go down this road. But this is where we are, and we have to finish it."
