The twilight wedding of Jannette Marie Phillipps and Raymond Miles was not only a union of hearts, but also a showcase of elegant style and sophistication.
The bride turned heads in a stunning Mae Feurtado gown of guipure lace, complete with a pearl-dotted bodice and chapel train, while her attendants glowed in peach crepe A-line dresses with bell sleeves. Miles–Phillipps Wedding

Jannette Marie Phillipps, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucien R. Phillipps of 12 Windsor Avenue, on October 13, 1965, became the bride of Raymond Miles in a twilight double-ring ceremony conducted by the Rev. Fr. Thomas Glavin at Sts Peter and Paul Church, Old Hope Road.
The groom was an account executive at C. M. Associates, advertisers. The former Phillipps had travelled to the United States and around the Caribbean on several occasions, demonstrating the ska.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a Mae Feurtado creation of guipure lace and drama. The close-fitting, full-length skirt featured a chapel train of drama appliquéd with beaded guipure motifs. The pearl-dotted bodice had a scooped neckline and wrist-length sleeves. For her head-dress, she wore a bandeau of pearls around her upswept hair with a veil of tulle falling to her elbows. Her bouquet consisted of white, yellow-centred orchids.

She was attended by Mrs. George Attala, matron of honour; her sister Charmaine Phillipps; and cousin Georgette Hanna. Their peach crepe dresses were cut on the A-line and featured bell sleeves adorned with bugle beads. They carried bouquets of peach and yellow rosebuds.
The bride’s mother wore a two-piece outfit of azure crepe. The top had a beaded cowl collar and was bordered with a rich design in bugle beads. She completed her ensemble with matching satin shoes and a white mohair picture hat set off with a blue rose.

Best man was Mr. John Bradbury, and Messrs. Geoffrey DePass, Tony Phillipps (the bride’s brother), Peter Mills, and Eddie Childs served as ushers. Soloist Joan McGann performed Ave Maria and Mother at Your Feet Is Kneeling while the bride and groom signed the register.
The reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Hanna, the bride’s aunt and uncle, at 37 Windsor Avenue. Mr. George Attala was master of ceremonies, with music provided by Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, emceed by Tony Verity. Among the guests was Miss Carol Crawford, Miss World 1963.

Mr. and Mrs. Miles left the island on November 1 for their honeymoon trip to Miami and Mexico.
