A new twist for your natural mane
"I love my hair because it's a reflection of my soul. It's dense, it's kinky, it's soft, it's textured, it's difficult, it's easy and it's fun. That is why I love my hair." These, the words of Tracee Ellis Ross, actress and daughter of music icon Diana Ross, seemed to be in the hearts of the women who filled the Montego Suite of The Jamaica Pegasus hotel last Sunday.
The Caribbean Natural Hair Show was a hit and Jus Natural Hair Studio showcased a wide range of hairstyles for natural tresses, highlighting twists, braid-outs, the traditional afro as well as a modern version with more defined curls.
Jus Natural Hair Studio ensured that there was a variety for all types of natural hair. They featured locks that can be twisted, coloured and braided into a crown for the 'empresses'. Cornrows manipulated in both classy and edgy styles like the mohawk. Short hair, no problem. Women were given the option to fake it with yarn braids 'til they grew it.
Here are the highlights.
