“There comes a time when you meet someone and you just want to make them smile for the rest of your life.” And for Crystal Allison Woolcock, she walked into the warm, welcoming and loving arms of the man she met in 2015, who became her best friend in 2017. He put a ring on it in 2018 and married her in 2019.

“We met when I visited Westmoreland for a case in the Westmoreland Parish Court. I was speaking to her online for some time and she came down by the courthouse to meet me,” attorney-at-law Maurice McCurdy reminisced on his encounter with Crystal during an interview with theFlair.

Smitten by Crystal’s captivating beauty, Maurice’s pursuit progressed from amicable to amorous duty. Each time he visited the parish for court cases, he said that he and Crystal would find time to lunch and get to know each other. Their connections blossomed into a wonderful friendship and within two years they got so close that their bond bloomed. She had gained the best-friend status.

Maurice confessed, however, that his heart had desired hers. “In July 2018, I proposed after returning from a trip overseas, because I knew I wanted to be nowhere else but with this woman who had taken my heart,” he revealed.

As it related to the wedding-planning aspect of the main event, the knight in lawful armour took the reins and did most of the groundwork, owing to the fact his wife-to-be, a Bachelor of Arts student, studying apparel design, production and management, was at times was busy with school.

On Friday, January 4, their romance sealed its fate in an evening ceremony at the Pineapple Beach in Montego Bay. When the two exchanged vows, there were crystal clear skies, making both a depiction and declaration of their love for each other.

The beautiful ceremony was enhanced by the remarkable décor coordinated by Curated Events and Services, while Troupe and Company Production provided all the staging work for the special event. But the nuptial show-stopper came when the gorgeous Crystal graced her guests, successfully wooing her husband when she emerged elegantly adorned in her exquisite Cochen Designs wedding dress.

Hoping to follow in his parents’ footsteps, attorney-at-law Henry McCurdy and businesswoman Jennifer, who have been married for over 30 years, Maurice has already started to play his role as the man in his home. Cheers to the McCurdys’ timeless love.
