Beef Mince

This choice meat is on fair offer at this time in meat shops and delicatessen establishments across the island.

The current asking price in meat shops and butcher stalls is $200 per pound. However, supermarkets or delicatessen establishments will charge you $380 per pound.

Ripe Plantain

Ripe plantains are neither cheap or abundant this week. The current asking price per finger ranges between $50 and $80 depending on size.

Downtown Kingston's less expensive outlets are asking between $30 and $60 per finger at this time.

Yellow Yam

This is a little costly at this time in retail markets across the island. May Pen and Spanish Town markets will quote between $120 and $130 per pound. This price also holds true for Montego Bay's Charles Gordon Market.

Less expensive outlets in downtown Kingston will have a price range between $70 and $80 per pound.

Green Bananas

Most retail markets are this week asking between $80 and $120 per dozen.

Cheaper outlets in downtown Kingston will charge as little as $60 per dozen.

Broccoli

This is in short supply across the island at this time. The price range is between $200 and $250 per pound.

Cabbage

This leafy vegetable might be a little hard to come by this week. But when you do find it the asking price is between $120 and $130.
