Juney Raffington - fate in good hands
Juney Raffington's fate was in God's hands as she set about competing in Regional 2 of PAN 2017.
"I heard it being advertised and some people were talking about it. I decided to give it a try and left everything up to God. God really made it work out for me," she said.
Raffington, who resides in the Faith's Pen area of St Ann, emerged first-place winner for her parish at last weekend's event.
"The experience was good. I learnt about the presentation of food and how to deal with people. So, it did a lot for me," she shared.
Now operating a bar, she would like to open a small jerk centre beside the establishment.
"If I win at the finals, I would use the money to set up a small jerk centre right beside the bar. I am hoping I get to win one of the prizes because I plan to go harder and nicer," she added in jest.
The 40-year-old mother of four revealed her secret to winning. "The sauce was what made the chicken special. You have to be creative and try things. I used the Walkerswood sauce and that really helped."
