Fit 4 Life | You had to be Tuff Enuff to handle the Trainfit Games
"I've been a part of Fit 4 Life from Season 1, and I can tell you this boot camp this morning was amazing. It was really intense. I feel it in every part of my body," shared Donna Lowe, a serial Fit 4 Lifer.
"I always hate when the season ends, because I always look forward to coming out to Fit 4 Life events each Saturday morning. Each week offers something different and exciting and gives me a great workout. This really is a great initiative of The Gleaner."
Practically everyone of the full turnout on Saturday morning shared Lowe's sentiments.
Not even the scenic Hope Gardens could dampen the gruelling and physically challenging Trainfit Games in the early morning.
Stokely Rose and the TrainFit Club really did host the ultimate games.
Barbed wire bear crawl, monkey bar, rope climb, net climb, hurdles, scaling eight-foot walls, hurdles and obstacle race were all part of the intense boot camp.
"This is so extreme, and he wants us to do it three times," an out-of-breath Anette James declared after just one round of the obstacle course.
"The first one is to learn, second is to burn and third is to earn," fitness guru Stokely told her.
And she gritted her teeth, steeled her spine and was off for the second turn on the course.
Power shakes from sponsor Chas E. Ramson made with Foska Oats and Blue Diamond Almond Milk, as well as delicious treats from partner GraceKennedy's Caribbean Choice; refreshing beverage from Grace Aloe and Catherine's Peak water were not enough to replenish the energy expelled at the TrainFit Games.
And participants still hadn't done the challenges. But with attractive prizes on offer, Fit 4 Lifers were ready to prove who was Tuff Enuff.
Males and females competed in the rope climb, net climb and obstacle race challenges.
The winners earned prizes such as gift baskets from sponsor Chas E. Ramson; gift baskets from GraceKennedy and Aloe Drink; one month membership with TrainFit; and Fit 4 Life gift bags, T-shirts and water bottles.
