DBJ, IDB partner on third Venture Capital Conference
The Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) are again partnering to host the third Venture Capital Conference.
The two entities yesterday signed an agreement for the March 7-9 conference, which will take place at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.
This year, the theme of the conference is 'The Power to Smart Capital ... Expanding the Financial Landscape, Fuelling Innovation, Driving Entrepreneurship'.
The keynote speaker is tech entrepreneur Chinedu Echeruo. He is the founder and CEO of Gigameet.com, a cause-based fundraising and networking platform. Before starting Gigameet, Echeruo founded two highly successful US-based Internet companies - Tripology.com, sold to Rand McNally, and now owned by USA Today, and HopStop.com, a website and mobile app for mass-transit routing used in 100 cities throughout the United States and Europe, which was sold to Apple.
Interested persons can register for the conference at venturecapitaljamaica.com.
