Angel about herself
Angel Tucker, formally of Endfield Primary and Junior High, is now representing St Mary High School and is in grade seven. This is the 12-year-old's fourth time entering the competition and her second win.
Her favourite subject is still mathematics and she loves to read. A member of the Music Club, Quiz Club, and 4H Club, Angel would like to be a lawyer in the future.
Though she admits that she only got the new Spelling Bee book about two weeks ago, she had words she was working on at home over the summer. Angel and her coach would meet at the library and would often keep in contact over the phone on days when they couldn't meet face to face.
Angel on winning
"I'm elated and I'm proud of myself."
On Nationals
"I'll have to make a schedule to incorporate spelling, schoolwork, and projects."
Coach on winning
"It's an awesome feeling. I have all intentions of helping her to emerge winner at nationals."
