Roger Chang found dead
WINDSOR CASTLE, St Mary:
The body of 62-year-old businessman Roger Chang was found yesterday during a joint search operation between police from the St Mary and Portland divisions. The body appeared to have several stab wounds to the back.
Chang, who went missing on Saturday, reportedly left Kingston in the company of a woman and was headed to a waterfall location in Portland but did not return home.
A search ensued, and his body was found shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday by lawmen, who combed the border linking both parishes.
The police have not yet located the whereabouts of the woman who was travelling with Chang in his white Suzuki Swift sport utility vehicle. The SUV has not been located.
Since the gruesome discovery was made, general secretary of the People’s National Party (PNP) Julian Robinson has said that he was saddened to learn of the death of Chang, whom he described as a strong advocate for the community and a defender of the rights of residents.
According to Robinson, it was only on Saturday that Chang, a former president of the New Kingston Citizens’ Association, in Robinson’s St Andrew South East constituency, had spoken to him about a property development in the business district. Chang is a former president of the Jamaica Solar Energy Association.
Chang’s body was reportedly found at Dover, near the border of Portland and St Mary. The Annotto Bay police in St Mary have assumed overall responsibility for the investigations.
