Staff of the Linstead Health Centre in St Catherine remained off the job on Tuesday following confirmation that an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

When The Gleaner visited the King Street location on Tuesday, workers were seated on the outside of the building.

“Please direct your enquiry to the security, as we are not working,” an employee said.

Meanwhile, visitors to the health centre said that the withdrawal of services had caused them distress.

“It is here that I would normally get to apply for my food handler’s permit, but the sudden closure caused me to spend money mi no have,” Millicent Murray told The Gleaner.

That view was echoed by Marcus Berry, who usually has his dressing redone at the facility.

“I know that COVID-19 is here, so we have to just respect the changes, but this is not good for me at all,” Berry said.
