WESTERN BUREAU:

While some residents of sections of Hanover reported feeling Monday’s earthquake, persons in other areas said they were spared.

In Eastern Hanover, the tremor was not felt in Hopewell and several surrounding districts, but in western Hanover, residents of communities such as Johnson Town, Lucea, Dias and Orange Bay reported feeling the earth shake.

Acting CEO of the Hanover Municipal Corporation, Romeo Daily, told The Gleaner that Parish Disaster Coordinator Annissa Spence said there were no reports of damage.

“The disaster coordinator reported that they have been having discussions in the various disaster preparedness groups and there is no reported damage [as yet],” he said when The Gleaner made contact.

He added that the process of reaching out to the disaster preparedness contacts in districts across the parish would continue.
