Proposal for national clean-up day

THE EDITOR, Sir:
The Marine Park in Montego Bay has designated September 17 as a day for volunteers to assist in cleaning up the beach areas in Montego Bay.
This is a good start and my recommendation is to use this day as a national day to clean up the actual street on which we live. The Park Service cannot do it all. Can The Gleaner suggest this as a national project?
The accumulation of plastic and paper garbage should be removed, and who has a better investment than the people who live on your street? Your involvement and help would be appreciated.
