Give Quallo chance to prove himself

 THE EDITOR, Sir:

Congratulations to George Quallo on being appointed our commissioner of police. I am happy for the change, but more important, I think that the right choice was made by the Police Service Commission.

Quallo has long been known as a man of integrity and humility. He is a hard worker and has been above reproach.

Some have been saying that he looks like a pushover, but I say to all the naysayers, Quallo is a quiet giant! I believe this change will breathe new life and encouragement into the police force.

Quallo seems to be all for community engagement, which I think is critical for us to get the crime rate down. I am willing to work with Commissioner Quallo, and I hope every well-thinking Jamaican will join the fight. Give him a chance to prove himself.
