Shame indeed on Bolt and Blake

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I truly thank Ann-Marie Campbell for writing the column ‘Shame on Bolt and Blake’, published in The Sunday Gleaner on December 15, 2019. It was such an objective and, in my opinion, sincere article. My exact sentiments.

I am really happy that we do have writers who are not ‘waggonists’, but who are willing to call the matter as it is, and not perpetuate the unhealthy rivalry between these two fine young men – Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake.

The article touched on every area without shaming any of these two iconic young men, but more of a counselling to both. I only hope those fuelling this unhealthy rivalry read this article. I also hope Usain, who I truly admire (both young men, as a matter of fact), give some thought to making this rhythm, and allow good sense to prevail.

Usain, please don’t allow petty things to overshadow your rich legacy.
