Labour deserved to be punished by the Conservatives

THE EDITOR, Madam:

An estimated 12.8 million Labour Party members voted in the 2016 Brexit Referendum. Of that an estimated 3.1-4.4 million voted to leave . Roughly 60-per cent of Labour seats voted to leave. In the 2017 General Election, the Labour Party had Brexit in their manifesto to get done.

They also agreed to carry out the will of the voters in 2016. Now, many of them where still calling for Remain, and even a second referendum.

Labour Party decided not to honour the majority by obstructing getting Brexit done. They misread the 2017 election, and started listening to the liberal mainstream media and elites, saying that the voters never knew what they are voting for. Well, this election– the voters spoke loud and clearly – that they knew what they were doing in the 2016 election by giving the Conservatives a landslide victory.

What I’ve noticed with the left is that they never reflect thoroughly on a loss: they always find something or someone to blame. The Democrats credit Donald Trump’s victory in 2016 to the Russians. The Democrats are likely to lose badly in 2020 because they refuse to accept the voice of the voters in 2016 .
