PM, we have a right to criticise

THE EDITOR, Madam:

HAVING LISTENED to Prime Minister Andrew Holness press conference last week, I found it ironic to hear him castigating those on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for being critical of him in recent days as it relates to the Government’s intention to open our borders as of June 15.

My reason for this is that it’s the same PM who saturates social media with his every move and appearance, and seems to rarely go anywhere without his social media team in tow.

Yes, the same PM who goes to the August Town home of Susan Bogle, supposedly to offer condolences to her son, while flying a drone overhead and actually making one of his PR videos to be aired all over the same Instagram, Facebook and Twitter platforms.

Honourable Prime Minister, you cannot love us and seek to manipulate and mould us on social media one day, but then seemingly hate us and resent our genuine criticism offered through those same mediums on another day.
