Jamaica has lot to be proud about
THE EDITOR, Madam:
The question of ‘what is going good for Jamaica?’ might not be easily answered for many people because the negatives we hear and read about daily are so overwhelming. Yet there are those who would counter the same question by asking, what makes a tiny island so great?
The words of our national anthem, Jamaica, Land We Love, are a reflection of the prayer of our hearts for our country. The performance of our athletes in Tokyo Olympics demonstrates our resilience, hard work, determination, and a desire to stand out in any circumstances.
The pandemic has transformed the world and proven to be a catalyst for many, including our athletes, who gave such an extraordinary display on the world stage. They rose to the occasion, enabling our flag to fly high. They went over and beyond self to represent their country.
Eternal Father, continue to bless our land. Guard us as we commit to you the youths of this country. Let respect and justice be the hallmark of what we do.
Jamaica is our land that we should always be proud of and love. Hardships there are, but we always overcome, and should be proud of our achievements. Let us silence the naysayers and cancel negative energies by recognising the positive among us.
Well done, Team Jamaica!
