Talkback Thursday

The controversy over the revocation and subsequent reinstatement of the US visas of Government Minister Daryl Vaz has intensified over the past two days. We asked The Gleaner’s social media followers how satisfied they are with the explanations by the implicated parties. Here are some of the responses.

PM needs to investigate and bring closure to the issue and resolve any undue unpleasantness between the two nation states.

An innocent question here kaaz unu love nyam off heads over here. If the US gov’t investigated and found that these men could potentially be involved in some crimes, isn’t this more cause for concern than who reported what? Seeking genuine clarification.

– @akedzlife

There has been much bluster but the substantive issue is how can a senior minister be travelling with such designation. It is embarrassing to the country and should be cleared up.

– @dentona22

We do not care! Stop trying to force this ‘issue’ on us. Ask us if we care about the lack of a crime plan and the economic turmoil the country is now in! Our pockets are feeling it! That’s what we care about!

– @valentinasbeautypassion

What a piece a stress.

– @k_r_i_s.si_

Couldn’t care less about it.

– @nct_5862

I’m very unsatisfied with the issue of the visas and the covering up of the way in which it was done. Both the US embassy and the gov’t must come clean. The ‘old boys network’ is very inappropriate for international relationships. We need clarity from the US. – @Anthony66372214

Jamaica has bigger issues right now. Next!

– @wellywonder1

We don’t care, is not like anything coming out of it anyway, so don’t be looking no support for any of the tribes.
