West Indies team selected out of Old MacDonald’s farm

THE EDITOR, Madam:

I watched the West Indies cricket team perform in the World T20 competition with tears running from my eyes and concluded that the team would have been selected right out of Old MacDonald’s (poultry) farm.

I saw the players, who were like chickens – they seemed too afraid to try. Then there were the cocky ones who thought they could hit every ball out of the ground, and, of course, there were the ducks who laid magnificent eggs. I thought they were full of it but thought better as everything was in such a mess. How can we as defending champions face the rest of the world?

I truly believe, though, that somewhere in the West Indies there is a team waiting to be selected and take shame from our eyes.
