Stop listening to nasty music
THE EDITOR, Madam:
There is a popular saying: “Be careful what you listen to, what you watch, and what you see. What you watch, listen to, and the friends you keep will determine the type of person you are.” People of dignity and moral standards – or real men and women – would never listen to songs with lewd lyrics, neither will they play with fire.
A woman was being told about the coming of Jesus, and she angrily said: “From mi hear seh Him a come, how Him cyaa reach yet?” And so it is with many of us. So many people are being brutally murdered, but it’s like nothing to some of us, until it reaches our doorsteps.
Still, the decades of nasty music continues to contaminate the so-called Christian country of Jamaica, while our leaders allow it to continue – and the people, too. Nobody in their right mind should support violent music, especially in Jamaica, where 1,000-odd people are being murdered each year. Nobody in their right mind should be sitting comfortably, listening to loud music and lewd lyrics in public transportation every day. That should never happen.
There is too much corruption all over. All those who care, help me to mash down violent music in Jamaica before ‘gunbwoys’ kill out the nation. God forbid. Let me say it for the 15th time: Stop listening to the nasty music – respect God, your Creator, and you will be 1,000 times better off.
