Toxic container homes?

Too many ‘experts’ in this country . That’s why we na progress. Everything unu oppose and nav no solution. – @anthoney_henri

You know what’s funny about the container home misinformation going in Jamaica? All you need to do is go on YouTube and type ‘container homes’ and you’ll realise its been around for decades. It’s not new, it’s our own lack of knowledge holding us back. – @davinsview

Know seh people weird, this is a real concern. This doesn’t mean they’re going to scrap the idea just saying there should be standards, which involves not using containers that transport toxins, as they can potentially harm people. – @mathaisog

Unnuh have it for Andrew, mi nah lie. We never know container toxic from dem a make shops and bars all over Jamaica for years … why a now that is being mentioned? – @MorganChevitage

Mi know ‘regular’ homes weh toxic much less. – @UpperKlassE

I still want to know where the container homes going. Also, do they think they just cut a window and door space open in the container and give the ppl? – @ScorpioDelizia

Please also address the cost to available space, for example, the one for 8.5 million only features 45 square metres. That is hardly enough for one person to live. Overpriced tiny liveable space. Definitely not attractive. – @DKAstrology

I will not buy a container home for J$ 15 million. – @AndreDun001876

Then make the block one them more affordable. Cah it take not only an arm and a leg to make a one room but also heart, kidney, liver ,everything. – @lakaisha_jacorie

I don’t business what anybody want to say. I don’t believe in no container home. – @herd_rose_official

What is the Opposition proposing? Forget about the homeless and be cold and careless? KMT! Because it wasn’t their idea! I think it’s a great solution! – @jh_jh_jh_dub

$11 million can build a better two bedroom than container. – @horselamp14

Questions I would like to know the answer to, how are these houses going to stay cool? – @annmariahicks

My take on this is to do some proper research before undertaking or encouraging these containers as suitable housing. One major concern I have is this. When Jamaica’s year-round heat hits these containers, are Jamaicans going to be able to afford to equip them with air conditioners and afford to run them 24/7 to make them habitable? Because, if you’ve never been in an empty container in the broiling sun, you can’t imagine being in one filled with furniture. Because that’s literally torture. – @stalagone

Just like the GMO food we eating, people. Someone is unhappy about this, that’s all it is. – @kylerkloset_evemarie
