The rules of diplomacy are complex

THE EDITOR, Madam:

It is a barbed wired fence between diplomatic faux pas and common sense. An apology is needed. Details about any aspect of diplomats lives should remain confidential. Family joining can be listed as sibling, employee personal assistant, escort and a host of other titles as options? Both sides need to have that euphemistic dialogue. Just a slick chit chat. Is that too hard to ask? An embassy vehicle, residence, etc., in the host country is treated as foreign soil, so what is the point of the debacle?

Special requests and plea bargains are the domain of diplomacy. Leniency and discretion is provided to many who should be deported charged and only given a slap on the wrist. This in all countries. Good relationships mean the right pushing of those buttons. Do mi ah favour nuh?

Tyrannical hypocrisy reigns in Jamaica. Queues are seen outside the US Embassy throughout the weekdays. Why? The massive silent inter-island wars and open horrendous assignations ranging from infants to the elderly. “Refugees”... in their own country. Displacement due to violence. Escape to the north. Obtaining a passport and a visa an emergency request for leave.

Brutal slaying over land, heartless executors in state church and neighbourhoods. Why the righteous indignation? If you read the canons of the original church, most have seriously fallen by the way. We all have come short of the glory of God! What of the continued rape of women, neglect of the fatherless? What are politicians in the African diaspora putting on the plate? Reparations need to come from that continent, too, and stop the apologetics for their involvement with the transatlantic slave trade.

There is limited will to fight the men who bond huddled in terrorist gangsterism and their female counterparts. Why is it that the hoods, the genocides in our own home spaces, black on black violence do not receive the deserved rage?

Then there is serious question of financial stability. Where de money gone? Whey de top executive position drap out fa? The known sinner and “sore” is easier to be treated.

It must be that the present reports are just a front while behind the scenes a resolution is being implemented.

Ah hope so. Tink bout de poo people dem who ah really suffa in all ah dis.
