Value time, family, and love during Christmas season

THE EDITOR, Madam:

As we prepare for the Christmas holiday season, we must remember the value of time, the power of family, and the milestones that we celebrate and look forward to with each passing day.

The Biblical accounts of God’s love for us is expressed through the timely delivery of His son, that was realised through the union of love between two people. The lesson teaches us the power of faith, understanding, acceptance, and love. This account offers a glimpse of the deepest emotional parallels of jealousy and hatred brought on by the absence of faith and belief, revealed in the persecution and elimination of the promised Lord.

Recently, we have been reminded of the vile acts that evil has spawned. These serve as a rotting reminder of what happens when we forget our faith and fall into the entrapment of evil, disguised as youthful adolescence that exists in our midst. Let us pray for healing for those directly and indirectly affected, which includes all of us, but especially for the strength to rise above and overcome the errors of decisions made through deception. Let us restore our faith in one another through prayer and our actions towards each other.

O God, our refuge and our strength, enlighten the minds and steady the hearts of all who govern across this Earth. Straighten the path to peace and unity with local, national, and international friends and adversaries alike, guiding the path to justice, mercy, and humanitarian and planetary care. Embrace and sustain all who are seriously ill or facing desperate times, that they, and those who support them, may know Your warmth, light, and encouragement within. We now join our hearts to pray for those in need.

Let us celebrate the power of family and the real value of genuine love that comes from sacrifice without regret, devotion without dependence. This celebrates the miracle of family, brought together through birth, marriage, adoption, and association. This extraordinary experience of expression is infectious and serves as an example to all around us.

Let us take the time to share this emotion by extending a kind gesture, a kind greeting, a kind word, or a kind deed to others during this holy season. We might just be surprised by what changes are yet to come.
