NWC says More Corporate Area customers to face water lock-offs
The National Water Commission (NWC) says more customers in the Corporate Area could soon be facing more water lock-offs if the current dry spell continues.
The absence of the expected rains during this period runs contrary to the predictions of the Meteorological Service which has said most parishes should experience above-normal rainfall up to next month.
However, acting communications manager of the NWC, Karen Williams says water systems in the Corporate Area are increasingly getting less than expected inflows.
She says as a result, customers now getting 12 hours of water will soon be getting water for fewer hours if the conditions continue.
Meanwhile, the NWC official is urging residents of the Corporate Area to conserve water and try to harvest rain water.
The NWC has been introducing water restrictions since April.
