Another bush fire near Highway 2000

After battling a bush fire for over seven hours yesterday, firefighters are now back on the scene close to the Vineyards Estate housing scheme attempting to get the blaze under control.

Thick plumes of smoke from the fire yesterday affected traffic flow along the Vineyards leg of Highway 2000.

Firefighters from May Pen and Kingston could do very little in putting out the blaze as their units could not access the area.

Motorists are again being asked to exercise caution when travelling along the Vineyards leg of Highway 2000.
