For the second time in its history the Police Officers Association has elected a female to serve as chairperson.
She is Deputy Superintendent Catherine Lord, who replaces Senior Superintendent Glenford Hudson.
Lord was elected yesterday at the all-officers conference of the association, which represents gazetted members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Other members of the executive include vice chairman, Senior Superintendent Steve McGregor, Secretary-treasurer Superintendent Wayne Cameron and assistant secretary-treasurer Superintendent Maxine Rivers.
Deputy Commissioner Novelette Grant is the first female to serve as chairman of the association in 2000.
