Jamaica, Namibia Strengthen Ties
Illustrating a firming of relations, Namibia's deputy minister of international relations and cooperation, Maureen Hinda, made a working visit to Jamaica from July 28 to 30. She met with a range of government and non-government parties.
The recent appointment of Professor Errol Morrison, director general, National Commission on Science and Technology, as honorary consul of Namibia in Jamaica also indicates solidifying relations.
The establishment of diplomatic relations with Namibia took place on July 27. Since that date, both countries have pursued various initiatives in the areas of technical and economic cooperation, sports and education.
Professor Morrison hosted a cocktail reception at the poolside of the Eden Gardens Resort and Spa in St Andrew last Wednesday evening in honour of Minister Hinda's visit.
