The recent rains have already resulted in a slight relaxation of water restrictions imposed by the National Water Commission (NWC) as a result of the ongoing drought.
This was disclosed by Corporate Public Relations Manager at the NWC, Charles Buchanan in an interview with The Gleaner/Power 106 News Centre.

Buchanan says the easing of the restrictions has been done in small pockets across the island.
He says the management of the NWC is currently assessing the situation at its catchment facilities to determine whether to further relax the restrictions.

Under the current NWC restrictions some communities in the corporate area receive water every two days while some get water every five days.
