PM: 1,500 new housing solutions coming

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says the arrangements are almost complete for the provision of 1,500 new housing solutions in three parishes.
According to Simpson Miller, the National Housing Trust (NHT) is concluding arrangements to provide interim financing for three housing projects in Hanover, St James and St Catherine.
The Hanover project will provide over a thousand new housing solutions, while the St James project will provide 244 solutions and the St Catherine project 116.
The housing solutions are to be provided through a joint venture between the NHT and a private developer.
The NHT recently announced plans to provide at least 9,000 housing solutions over the next two years.
