Roadblocks cleared in North East St Elizabeth following political protest
Members of the Jamaica Fire Brigade and the Jamaica Constabulary Force have now cleared sections of the Balaclava main road in North East St. Elizabeth which were this morning blocked by supporters of outgoing Member of Parliament Raymond Pryce.
When The Gleaner team went to the constituency today, some of Pryce's supporters admitted to blocking the roads.
They said they would continue until he is reinstated as the candidate for the impending general elections.
Residents, primarily in George's Valley were adamant that Pryce is right in his approach to empower the young people with education.
Meanwhile, Evon Redman, the man selected to represent the constituency in the next general elections, is urging the constituents unite.
PNP President Portia Simpson Miller and campaign director, Dr Peter Phillips had made a similar appeal at the last meeting of the party's national executive council.
