PNP looking into North East St Elizabeth protest, says Burke
People’s National Party (PNP) General Secretary, Paul Burke, says the party is looking into the issues that led to yesterday’s protest by residents in the North East St Elizabeth constituency.
Burke says the party is still gathering information on the situation.
He says the PNP will decide on the right course of action after it collects the relevant information.
Upset residents yesterday renewed their protest in the constituency to press the hierarchy of the PNP to reinstate sitting Member of Parliament, Raymond Pryce, as its standard bearer for the next general election.
Pryce has been replaced by Evon Redman.
The roadblocks were reportedly mounted by Pryce's supporters who have vowed not to give up their fight to have him as their parliamentary representative.
Several roads in some communities in the North East St Elizabeth constituency were blocked for several hours yesterday by angry residents.
