Give Jamaicans credit, they will heed pregnancy warning – Sociologist
Sociologist, Dr Orville Taylor, says Jamaican women are capable of following the advice to delay their pregnancies although research suggests that most pregnancies are unplanned.
According to him, the population should be given more credit to heed the warning of the health ministry.
Meanwhile, the sociologist says he does not believe delaying pregnancies this year will significantly affect population growth.

In 2012, the National Family Planning Board, reported that the fertility rate among women aged 15-49 had decreased from 4.5 children per woman in 1975 to 2.4 children per woman in 2008.
It also reported that the number of unplanned pregnancies had also declined.
