NSWMA to probe unacceptable disposal of tyres at Hill Run

The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) says it’s launching a full investigation into what it says is the unacceptable disposal of tyres at Hill Run, St Catherine.

It says it apologises to the public for this obvious breakdown in controls.

The NSWMA says its management team will be meeting with residents in the area to discuss the matter in an effort to share the plans and actions for the site.

It says work has started at the facility and it has developed a long term plan for the management of End of Life Tyres.

The NSWMA says this plan will be made public in the coming months.
