NAJ wants details on Holness income tax removal promise

The Nurses' Association of Jamaica (NAJ) says Opposition Leader Andrew Holness needs to show how his promise to raise the income tax threshold to $1.5 million will work given the country's economic situation. 

NAJ president, Janet Coore Farr says she would welcome the plan if Holness shows that it is workable. 

The income tax threshold is now $592,800.

This means that the government does not take income taxes from the first $592,800 of the salaries of workers in Jamaica.

Holness has said if he becomes Prime Minister, he will raise the threshold to $1.5 million.
