#JaVotes2016: Collie sticks with $100 bills to pay nomination fee

After paying his $3,000 nomination fee with $100 bills bearing the image of former Jamaica Labour Party's (JLP) leader Donald Sangster, Dr Charlton Collie the party's candidate for St Andrew South Eastern said he deliberately did not want to use the $1,000 bill which carried the image of former Prime Minister Michael Manley.

Manley was also a former People's National Party (PNP) president.

"We never want to use Michael Manley. He is the destruction of this country," Collie told reporters as he emerged from the nomination centre at Campion College, in St Andrew.

The consultant physician is challenging the PNP's Julian Robinson and Horace Matthews of the Marcus Garvey People's Political Party.

Collie described the last election victory for Robinson as a fluke and said he is confident of defeating the PNP standard-bearer.
